Another Great Review of Kaycee's Tattered Spirit

Just finished reading 'Kaycee's Tattered Spirit' by K.c. Rice Author-Artist

Review:

Arc provided by the author. This book was an interesting read and I have to say plays on some very real situations which can occur during a marriage. Kaycee has struggled with abuse, illness and had to fight to recover. She married her college boyfriend and things have been good but lately she's felt like she can't be herself. Kaycee has made some online friendships and the one she's built with Mason has brought out feelings she didn't think she could have. Although she loves her husband Shane, he smothers her making her feel invalid and child like. Shane's change is attitude also makes Kaycee weary of his sudden behaviour. Her growing feelings for Mason seem like something she should forget about but will he allow her to escape his life now that he's found her??
The story is good and It felt very realistic, it does also cover a taboo about whether Kaycee was doing something wrong by messaging with Mason but there was no sex involved, it's purely verbal. It's also very descriptive, which may not be for everyone. There are some sweet moments but also some very angst filled moments. I liked the characters, and although there are grammatical errors it's nothing to ruin the story. I have to admit I didn't like how the book ended but it's open to the next book continuing the story and it's rather dramatic, a woman trying to forge a new future.
